Div 1 vs Clonguish, Leo Casey Park, September 17th 2011

Ballymahon 3-5 Clonguish 3-12
Clonguish ran out seven point winners in this division 1 fixture, but it was a much improved performance from Ballymahon who gave a good account of themselves.

Clonguish started the stronger and Joe O'Brien scored the opening ball when a he picked up a high ball from full forward John Dowd. Ballymahon responded well with Cian Cooney and Colm Flynn getting a lot of ball in midfield. The sides exchanged points before a move saw Thomas Mulvihill score a good goal to level the sides at 1-3 a piece. Ken Lovell was doing well at full back, but Clonguish added three more points before the break to take a three point lead.

Clonguish started the second half very strongly and added the first four scores. Colm Flynn responded with a point before Thomas Mulvhill scored his second goal of the game. Clonguish responded again and goals from Paul Barden and Joe O'Brien put the game beyond Ballymahon, but Ballymahon didn't give up and added another goal from Colm Flynn before the finish.

This leaves just one league game which will be away to Abbeylara.
